GIVE THE GIFT OF TIME

Get involved and volunteer at GRACE! Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, donation center sorting, the GRACE Boutique, donation drives, and community outreach.  Orientation is required before you begin volunteering and is an opportunity to learn more about what we do. Orientation takes place every other Saturday. We are also looking for local organizations and groups to help us steward our Donation Center on a regular basis!

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT ALERT

Effective September 25, 2023, all new and returning volunteers will need to register by creating an account in our new volunteer portal. Click here to register today.

RETURNING VOLUNTEERS

If you have previously volunteered OR attended orientation prior to September 25, 2023, please email Leigh Scott by sending a message to volunteer@gracemarketplace.org AFTER REGISTERING in the new portal. Please provide your name so we can approve your application and give you access to self register for volunteer shifts.

NEW VOLUNTEERS

Anyone who is new to volunteering at GRACE will need to attend a volunteer orientation before they are able to sign up for volunteer shifts. If you want to serve a meal in Café 131 you do not need to attend orientation.

GRACE 101: Volunteer Orientation

Here at GRACE, we like to afford everyone the opportunity to have a critical community conversation about what we do, how homelessness affects their community and our commitment to #endhomelessness. Grace 101 is every other Saturday from 12 pm - 1 pm.

Our Community Engagement Manager, Leigh Scott can also bring Grace 101 to your business or organization and you can schedule that by emailing him at volunteer@gracemarketplace.org

Serve A Meal in Café 131

About ten years ago, Gainesville resident and homeless advocate Pat Fitzpatrick rallied local residents in convincing the city to overturn a policy limiting soup kitchens to serving only 130 meals per day. The dining room is named Cafe 131 to honor Pat's legacy and advocacy work to help erase the 130-meal limit from Gainesville's books.

Serving meals at GRACE is a great opportunity for individuals and groups to directly help people in need in our community. We ask that you arrive 30 minutes before the meal service begins. For example, dinner starts at 5:30, so you're expected to arrive at 5:00pm, with dinner service wrapping up at 6:45pm.

Donation Center

Here at Grace, we are dedicated to being a one-stop homeless services center and that means daily organizing and sorting of donations. We can use all the help we can get to get items out to the areas.

GRACE Boutique

The Grace Free Clothing Boutique is a great way to connect with our guests and get them the clothing they need. Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2 pm to 4 pm we open the boutique for the guests and recreate a full shopping experience. This is an amazing opportunity for businesses and organizations and can take 7-10 volunteers.

Group Volunteering

We understand connecting your group with our community is important. Whether you own a business and want your team to come volunteer or you're part of a club or organization, let's chat about service opportunities for you!

Reach out to our Community Engagement Manager by sending a message to volunteer@gracemarketplace.org.
