GRACE GROWS GARDEN

EVERYONE DESERVES A CHANCE TO GROW!

Grace Grows Garden is a community garden located just behind Café 131. Although Grace Grows Inc. facilitates the garden, it is people who are experiencing homelessness who determine exactly how they would like the garden to be managed. In the garden, guests of GRACE can reserve their own space to grow what they wish. Guests may also participate in group-managed spaces to grow healthy food for the shelter and other guests. Thanks to our collaborators at Working Food and Grow Hub, we always have seeds for our gardeners. The gardens we maintain on campus are an apothecary garden, a memorial garden, row crops for vegetables, a trellis garden, raised beds for guests to reserve, and a garden park with fruit trees and ecologically friendly plants. The volunteer experience in the garden is unique in that individuals and guests of GRACE get to work side by side to accomplish goals. For people who are struggling, these spaces offer respite and a place to connect.

Grace Grows operates as an independent non-profit collaborating with GRACE Marketplace.

Our mission is simple: to end homelessness. We achieve that goal by removing the typical barriers that keep people from getting help and providing them with safe shelter, effective services, and permanent housing solutions.
